Who We Are
The Washington County Watershed Alliance (WCWA) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 to enhance and coordinate conservation efforts throughout the County and support the activities of individual watershed associations.
WCWA Mission: Through a watershed based approach, will: provide a collaborative framework to support the efforts of all local watershed associations; encourage responsible utilization of air, land and water resources; to support sound agricultural activities, encourage sustainable land use and the protection and preservation of agricultural lands; and promote the protection, preservation and enhancement of the county’s natural resources, biodiversity and ecological health for the benefit of current and future generations.
What We Do
The WCWA is involved in a wide variety of activities. Listed below are some of the primary activities in which we participate.

Water quality monitoring and other research related to natural resource conservation

Assistance and support for watershed groups that belong to the Alliance, including assistance with grants and funding, and development of watershed management plans

Coordination of county-wide efforts

Resources, including information about federal and state programs and sources of funding for watershed projects
